Layer: Stress Index 2009-13 (ID: 3)

Name: Stress Index 2009-13

Display Field: NAME

Type: Feature Layer

Geometry Type: esriGeometryPolygon

Description: STRESS10 displays recent indicators of stress for Pima County, both as individual variables and as a composite index. Data were obtained from the 2009-2013 American Community Survey (5-Year Data) at the block group level. This layer is the latest in a series of stress indicators (using 1980, 1990, and 2000 Census data) that were originally used to target areas in the County (or the City of Tucson) for housing rehabilitation. Methodology is largely identical to that used in STRESS00 layer. Caution should be used when interpreting these data; it's important to understand 1) the source ACS data, 2) the methodology used to create this index, and 3) what the results actually mean. In particular, note that--contrary to the layer file name--the ACS data were collected for a period of five years from 2009 to 2013, and so this should not be represented as a stress index for 2010 only.
